Shawarma Pittsburgh: Our Lawrenceville Shop and Event Orders
What shawarma is
Shawarma is a dish of seasoned meat cooked on a vertical rotisserie, then sliced thin as it cooks and served in pita, wrapped, or over rice. It is common across the Levant, and the spice blend and sauces vary from kitchen to kitchen. Our chicken shawarma follows the same basic method: marinated meat, rotisserie cooking, and shaved portions served to order. Many people first try it as a wrap, but it is also served over rice for a heartier meal.
How ours is made
We marinate our meats for more than 24 hours. Our chicken shawarma is stacked by hand every morning, then cooked on the rotisserie and shaved for each order. Our chicken is listed as halal on our menu. Our falafel is made from soaked raw chickpeas, never from a powder, and our hummus and baba ganoush are made in house. Fresh vegetables and a Lebanese salad come on the side, and garlic (toum) sauce and tarator (sesame) sauce are available to add flavor.
Ordering at our Lawrenceville location
Our Lawrenceville location is at 3716 Butler St, Pittsburgh PA 15201. Pickup is always free. Start with the menu to choose a format: a pita wrap, which contains gluten, a rice bowl over Lebanese rice, or a falafel wrap with tarator sauce. For details about the location, visit our locations page. If you have dietary questions, call (412) 251-1279 before you order.
Ordering shawarma for an event
Shawarma works well for lunches, parties, and gatherings. For large orders, plan at least 24 to 48 hours ahead. Pickup is always free, and delivery is available within a 10-mile radius for orders over $200. For full service with servers, contact us to discuss. Include your guest count, serving style, and any dietary needs in your request. Ask for a mix of wraps and rice bowls so guests who prefer bread and guests who prefer rice both have a choice. As a common starting point, many planners allow a generous serving of protein per guest, then add sides and bread to match appetite. You can learn more on our catering page.
Tips for a first order
If this is your first time ordering, pick one protein and one sauce to start, then add sides as you learn what you like. Garlic (toum) sauce is a strong garlic sauce, and tarator is a sesame-based sauce that pairs well with falafel. Fries and fresh vegetables help balance a rich wrap. Tell us about any allergy or dietary need so we can help you choose the right items. If you are new to the dish, ask our team to describe the flavors of each sauce before you order. If you are ordering for a group, share a few items across the table so everyone can try more than one dish.
